Another year gone by...

As I sit here in the recliner as its raining and sleeting outside, I realize that it's December 31st and another year has snuck by on me. Time sure does fly when you're having fun.

What a year 2012 has been for us. We have caught plenty of fish, even a few big ones here and there. The crew and I made the pilgrimage west to Big Sky Country and made a life long dream come true. Duck season has been a success so far this year even with the drought. Plenty of birds have made the plunge.

With 2013 just around the corner, we looking forward to finishing out duck season strong. Then we will transition into our winter streamer fishing where we will go on the hunt for our big brown trout. From there, who knows...so much to look forward to for 2013.

I would like to thank everyone who follows the blog and enjoys our adventures. Please leave any thoughts or comments for us on what u have thought about 2012.

Again, thanks for following...

Keep chasing the dream...

The Wise man does it again...

Well, it's that time again. At least 4 times a year, ol' Brian Wise over at Fly Fishing the Ozarks throws out some visual goodness for all of us to see. The new "Fall 2012" video delivers with some awesome fishing from the NFOW, the White, and Dry Run Creek. For all of you out there that follow CTD but you're not a "Ozark native", watch all of Brian's videos and u will see what our area is all about...

On a side note, pay very close attention and you will see The Bum himself making a cameo appearance in this video...

Thanks Brian...

Quack, honk, bang!

Waterfowl season kicked back off for CTD this past weekend. With it, brought about 1 of our favorite traditions of the year. Duck camp! For the past 4-5 years, a bunch of us get together out in Western Oklahoma to hunt several different locations that we have access to. There is always some good hunting, good times, and lots of great food along with some adult beverages. This year was no different.

I love to fish, no denying it but there is just something about cold mornings, hot coffee, good buddies, whistling wings, and the boom of a shotgun that will pull me from the river. I said I was gonna spend more time fishing this year cuz our winter season is great. Solitude and big fish are the norm. I say it every year...and every year I find myself out in the duck blind. It's the other "dream" that I like to chase...

This is why...

Winter fishing...Ozark style!

During the winter time here in the Ozarks it is a great time to be out chasing the fishes. On a normal rainfall year, our little wild trout creeks are running bank to bank and cold while our winter stocking creeks are getting filled up with fat fish for anglers to chase.

This year is a little different story with our never ending drought that is plaguing us. Lakes, rivers, and creeks are all VERY low which can make the fishing a little tough on us minus if u are wade fishing on one of our tailwaters.

The majority of the crew has been out chasing anything and everything with fur and feathers...mostly feathers! Luckily, our Arkansas CTD rep JoeyC, has been busy putting the creek ninja sneak on a few big rainbows over east. With the creeks being low and super clear, finding these pigs is easy but making a presentation without screwing the pooch is very difficult. JoeyC got the job done though...

Look at the pics and drool...
